The growing relationship between furniture design and fashion is influencing the public taste in interiors. The world’s biggest fashion companies are leveraging their brands to create furniture collections and to drive the market.
What is next wave of sustainability in constructions and interiors? Now that everything is assumed to be green, the future step is about building spaces able to enhance human health and wellbeing. Furniture design is going to have an important impact on this whole new scenario.

Happy Business to You to host IDC board in Pordenone, Italy

HBTY will host 18 members of the IDC board as well as Tracy Bowie, vice-president of IIDEX Canada, in Pordenone, Italy, from February 12 to 16.

“We are very excited to be hosting this prestigious group of interior designers from Canada,” said Alessandro Zanetti, CEO of International Relations for Happy Business to You. “This is a unique opportunity to introduce more than 125 Italian furniture companies to the Canadian marketplace through the directors on the IDC Board and the vice-president of the national trade show in Canada.”

The IDC members representing every province in Canada will attend the show and take the information from the show back to their respective provinces to share with the local interior design communities.

“Our Board is honoured that we were able to partner with HBTY, a relatively new but extremely relevant show for our board members who also practice interior design on a full-time basis,” said David Gibbons, President of IDC. “An additional bonus is that the show is being held in Pordenone, a city with a high concentration of furniture manufacturers, many of which we will have the chance to visit.”

As part of the weeklong collaboration, IDC, HBTY and IIDEX will discuss future opportunities for collaboration between the Italian and Canadian design communities, with a focus connecting interior designers with manufacturers.
